How to edit a PDF's metadata
Choose your file, or drop it on the box above. Its properties appear in the boxes.
Change what you want. Leave a box empty to remove that property.
Select Save properties and save the new file.
Where these properties show
PDF readers show the title in the window or tab, and the author, subject and keywords in the document's properties. Some search engines and file managers show them too.
Any language works: the properties are saved as you type them.
What else changes
The file's other details, such as the program that made it and its dates, are kept. The pages are not changed.
Its XMP metadata, a second copy of these details that some readers prefer, is removed, so every reader shows what you typed. To remove every detail instead, use Remove PDF metadata.
Your file never leaves your device
The properties are written in your browser with qpdf, an open-source PDF library built to run on your device. No file, page or file name is sent to us or to anyone else. The tool itself loads only when you start, so the page stays fast.
How large can the file be?
It depends on your device's memory. If the file is too large for your device, the tool says so before it starts, rather than letting the browser close the tab.
A file protected with a password opens once you type its own password on this page, and the new file has no password. We never get around a file's protection.
