How to sign a PDF
Choose your file, or drop it on the box above.
Draw your signature with a mouse, a finger or a pen, type your name, or choose a picture of your signature (PNG or JPEG).
Choose the last or the first page and where on it, or select Place it on the page to see the page and drag your signature into place. Then select Sign PDF and download the signed file.
A signature you draw or type, not a digital certificate
This adds a picture of your signature to the page, as signing a printed copy would. It is an electronic signature, which many everyday forms, letters and agreements ask for.
It is not a certificate-based digital signature: it does not prove who signed or lock the file against later changes. When a form asks for a digital ID or a certificate, use a tool made for that. We plan to add one later.
Signatures already in the file stay valid
Your signature is added after the file's own contents, which are kept byte for byte, so a digital signature someone added before you still checks out for what it signed. A PDF reader may note that the file changed after that signature, which is true: you added yours.
A file whose index is damaged is the one exception: it is saved whole as a new copy, so that it opens, and a digital signature already in it no longer covers it.
Put your signature where it belongs
On the page itself, drag your signature with a mouse or a finger, or move it with the arrow keys and press + or - to make it larger or smaller. Type any page number to sign that page instead.
Your file never leaves your device
Signing runs in your browser with pdf-lib, a PDF library that runs on your device. No file, page, name or signature is sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing is stored. The tool loads only when you start, so the page stays fast.
A file protected with a password cannot be signed here yet. Remove its password first.
