Split PDF files
Choose a PDF, then extract the pages you type, make one file per range, or start a new file every few pages. It is split on your device and never uploaded.
How to split a PDF
Choose your file, or drop it on the box above.
Pick how to split it: extract pages into one file, one file per range, or a new file every few pages.
Type the pages, then select Split PDF and download the result. Several files come as one ZIP.
How to type pages
Separate pages and ranges with commas: 1-3, 5, 8- means pages 1 to 3, page 5, and page 8 to the end. Type all for every page.
A range typed backwards, such as 5-3, means pages 3 to 5. Extracted pages keep the file's own order.
Your file never leaves your device
The split runs in your browser with qpdf, an open-source PDF library built to run on your device. No file, page or file name is sent to us or to anyone else. The tool itself loads only when you start, so the page stays fast.
What is kept
Pages are copied exactly: text, images and page sizes are unchanged, and nothing is added, not even a watermark.
Each new file keeps the bookmarks of its own pages and the document's title, and links between pages it holds. A link to a page it no longer holds is removed, so nothing points nowhere.
When you extract pages or make one file per range, filled-in form fields and page numbering are kept too.
How large can the file be?
It depends on your device's memory. If the file is too large for your device, the tool says so before it starts, rather than letting the browser close the tab.
A file protected with a password opens once you type its own password on this page, and the new files have no password. We never get around a file's protection.
