Crop the pages of a PDF

Choose a PDF, type the margins to cut off and the pages to crop. The new file is made on your device, and nothing is uploaded.

Margins to cut off, in millimetres

From each page as it shows on screen. 10 mm is about 0.4 inch; leave a box empty for none.

Such as 1-3, 5, 8- (8 to the end), or all.

Runs qpdf in your browser. Open-source licenses

How to crop a PDF

Choose your file, or drop it on the box above.

Type how many millimetres to cut from the top, right, bottom and left, and which pages to crop.

Select Crop PDF and save the new file.

How the margins are measured

Each margin is measured from the edge of the page as it shows on screen, so a turned page is cropped the way you see it. 25.4 mm is one inch.

Separate pages and ranges with commas: 1-3, 5, 8- means pages 1 to 3, page 5, and page 8 to the end. Type all for every page.

What cropping keeps

Cropping sets the area every reader shows and every printer prints: what is outside it is hidden, not deleted, and stays in the file. Do not rely on cropping to keep part of a page private.

Text, images, links and form fields inside the area are not changed.

Your file never leaves your device

The pages are cropped in your browser with qpdf, an open-source PDF library built to run on your device. No file, page or file name is sent to us or to anyone else. The tool itself loads only when you start, so the page stays fast.

How large can the file be?

It depends on your device's memory. If the file is too large for your device, the tool says so before it starts, rather than letting the browser close the tab.

A file protected with a password opens once you type its own password on this page, and the new file has no password. We never get around a file's protection.
