How to turn a PDF gray
Choose your file, or drop it on the box above, then select Make it gray.
Download the new PDF. Every page looks gray on screen and prints gray, with the same layout as before.
Text stays text
The pages are not turned into pictures: text stays sharp at any zoom, and you can still select, search and copy it. Links, bookmarks and form fields stay where they were.
The tool lays a gray layer over each page that removes colour and keeps how light or dark everything is. The file is about the same size as before.
What keeps its colour: comment markup, and the coloured frames of links and form fields. The page under them is gray.
Your file never leaves your device
The file is changed in your browser with qpdf. No file or file name is sent to us or to anyone else. qpdf loads only when you start, so this page stays fast.
A file protected with a password opens once you type its own password on this page. A digitally signed file's signature no longer checks out after any change, this one included.
